After a ten year career in agricultural marketing and sales, I decided to pursue an artistic path, developing my creative side over the last 12 years and searching to understand the wonderfully crazy behavior that makes us humans.
I started this adventure with a music project that began in early 2010. I traveled to different countries, including Italy, Greece, Turkey, India, Malaysia and Vietnam, getting inspiration and creating songs with the idea of recording an album. In early 2011 in Hanoi, I launched my album, “Almaz Hotel”. https://www.jamendo.com/album/89858/almaz-hotel After a few months in South East Asia, I decided to pursue my new career back home, returning to Spain at the end of June 2011. I devoted 100% of my time in my home town of Pamplona promoting and creating music. I performed in different cities, mostly around the Basque Country (Bilbao, San Sebastian, Biarritz, etc.) with different bands: (“The Crooners”, “Los Informales”, “Pato en la calle…”) accumulating friends and experiences. In September 2013, I moved back to Asia, but this time based in Jakarta, Indonesia until July 2015. My music there became more experimental. I worked on the project “Cartas desde tu subconsciente”: https://youtu.be/7nKM9K7Z1I0 and collaborated with other artists on projects, including: - Sound track for “Denominación de Origen”, a short movie directed by Ignacio San Martín. https://youtu.be/h17UjNcWqcA - Relaxation Singing at Bani Widjawati´s yoga studio I also began painting seriously in Jakarta and became involved in a few environmental projects, such as: - Clean up Jakarta day: https://youtu.be/S7nUKrIQllI - Green Initiative Foundation Nursery crowd funding: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-forest-farmers-tree-nursery#/ Ultimately, I ended up having a couple of exhibitions in Jakarta. The first one, related with my environmental concerns about the country, was called “Indonesian Cityzen” http://www.inyigoardanaz.com/enviromental-project-indonesian-cityzen.html The second one, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy, explored commonalities between my culture and that of Indonesia. It was called “The Cross Over”: http://www.inyigoardanaz.com/the-cross-over-jakarta-2015.html At the end of 2015 I moved to Washington, D.C., starting a new adventure on a new continent in a country full of possibilities. I worked in a personal project investigating the feelings of the Basque shepherds migrants, playing in my paintings with sheep and gold. I kept involved in several environmental and social projects, urban farming, compost communities. In August 2017, I moved to Nepal, continuing the story line that started in the US. I collaborate with local environmental projects to promote a more sustainable way of living through nature and art. I have been delighted to be part of Kathmandu and to exhibit my work “Daydream” where I reflect my impressions of humans looking for a better future through nature. By fusing animals with gold, I have created a collection of vibrant paintings that juxtapose spirituality, human development and hope in surprising ways. Now, I’m starting a new adventure in Almaty, Kazakhstan where I have found an extraordinaire source of inspiration |
